In four short years since its introduction, GreenMech’s revolutionary EVO 205 Series has gone on to set the benchmark for arborists in the larger, 8” market. The EVO 205D was swiftly joined in the portfolio by Fixed Track, SAFE-Trak and SURE-Trak options to bring more powerful bite, more torque and more throughput to the biggest of tasks and most challenging of terrain.
At the heart of the EVO 205D’s design is a Stage V compliant 50hp Kubota Diesel engine which can process up to 25 cubic metres of material per hour, making it one of the most productive machines in its category. GreenMech’s ‘Smart Sense’ controller provides ‘no-stress’ overload protection and automatic load detection to ensure optimised performance and fuel consumption. A generous in-feed hopper allows for the free-flow of bulky brash and timber, gathered and gripped by the twin horizontal hydraulic rollers and fed to the heavy, six-disc blade flywheel, which delivers unparalleled processing power.
Strength and durability in construction is provided by the deep beam, high tensile steel chassis, together with an all-steel hinged and lined bonnet which not only offers all-important protection to the engine but makes the EVO one of the quietest chippers available. All major grease points have also been centralised to make the routine maintenance quick and convenient.
The EVO 205DT features GreenMech’s tried and tested fixed track system, giving 260mm of clearance and a tracking speed of 3kph to provide swift, safe traversal and stability over rough ground. Extending the concept, literally, is the award-winning track extension system on the EVO 205D SAFE-TRAK. Allowing one track to be extended at a time this pioneering feature, made popular on GreenMech’s iconic 19-28, is ideal for de-veg contractors working on power line, highway or railway maintenance.
Finally, the EVO 205D SURE-Trak combines an aggressive 8” chipping capacity with the ability to safely climb slopes in excess of 35 degrees thanks to a pivoting track base which allows each track to be raised or lowered independently on the move. Extra adjustment above normal tolerances combined with the ability to keep the body level ensures the safety of operator, crew and machine when working in challenging conditions. The ultimate tracked chipper? We think so!
